After the much awaited local derby fixture against the Coventry Bees on Sunday at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium for the East Midlands Bowl Leicester’s junior team, the Lion Cubs face the Milton Keynes Knights in the final of the Midland Development League Vase competition. Riding for the visitors is Shaun Tedham who won the League Riders’ Individual Championship at Leicester last month and for the Cubs, third placed James Shanes rides at number 3 for the home team.
“The day promises to be terrific entertainment for fans with such an array of talent on show at Leicester. There are only two riders, one from each side who have never ridden regularly in the Elite League so you can begin to appreciate the quality of the event. The history behind Leicester and Coventry is immense and dates back to the early days of the sport and I am sure that we are in for a night to remember. The Vase Final after the East Midlands Bowl will in my opinion be another interesting contest and a great way to round off the evening by watching some of the future stars of British Speedway” commented the Lions Co-promoter Alan Jones.
Normal admission prices apply for Sunday’s second leg of the East Midlands Bowl at Leicester and the meeting starts at 6.00 pm.
